Aaargh!

So it turns out IE7 and Firefox 2.0 mangle the headings in the white template. That being the one I use for this blog, some of you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Sorry. I'm working on it. Or I will, anyway, as soon as I get some time.

[Update: this is now fixed, I think.]

Meanwhile, I posted the following bit to USENET:

So today at work, I ran Windows Update, which instead of installing bug fixes, installed the latest Internet Explorer. It was taking a while, so just for giggles1, I tried downloading and installing Firefox 2.0 at the same time.

Sure enough, I had Firefox installed and running before Windows Update prompted me to reboot the computer to finish the IE installation.

Also, when I went to my website, it triggered IE's anti-phishing, uh, feature. You see, I use easydns.com to redirect www.blit.ca to my ISP's webspace and this technique, which is used by zillions of legitimate domain owners, gets flagged as a phishing attempt UNLESS your site get put onto Microsoft's registery of non-phishing websites.

Um, hooray?

  1. Actually, I've updated my website and I want to see how it looks under the new browsers2

  2. Okay with Opera and Firefox 1.0.8 under Linux but not with IE 7 and Firefox 2.0 under Windows.
